Tree up to 40m tall and 60cm diameter.
Habitat: Very rare in lowland mixed dipterocarp forest up to 270m above sea level.
Distribution: Rare but widespread in Sarawak.
Note: The tree yields the incense wood from the heartwood of an old dying tree. It is used for ceremonial purposes.
